A passenger flying on a commercial plane bound for Dubai caught on video what appeared to be Iranian missiles being launched into the sky, reportedly targeting Israel.

The footage shows bright streaks cutting through the night sky, believed to be ballistic missiles fired from Iran.

The video has gone viral online as tensions between Iran and Israel remain high following multiple nights of heavy missile exchanges.

This particular launch reportedly happened as the flight passed over or near Iran, capturing the moment Iranian missiles were fired towards various Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv, Bnei Brak, Petah Tikva, and Haifa.

At least five people in Israel were killed overnight in the strikes, with dozens more injured. Search teams are still working through the debris to find missing persons, and nearly 300 people have been hospitalized since the beginning of the hostilities.

Iranian state television has claimed responsibility for launching at least 100 missiles at Israel, saying it is part of their retaliation for Israeli strikes that began on Friday. Israel had previously targeted Iran’s military command and nuclear infrastructure, including the Natanz nuclear site.

What’s the latest with the Iran-Israel war?

The missile captured in the passenger’s video is one of many exchanged in a series of retaliatory strikes between Iran and Israel.

The conflict began to escalate on Friday, when Israel launched an attack on Tehran’s key nuclear facility in Natanz.

According to Rafael Grossi, head of the UN’s nuclear watchdog, the plant’s above-ground area, which produced enriched uranium, has been “destroyed.” Experts say it could take years to repair the damage.

In response, Iran launched missiles toward Israeli cities, killing civilians and damaging infrastructure. In Petah Tikva, a missile hit an apartment block, blowing out windows and destroying homes. Fires were reported near a power plant in Haifa.

The Israeli government reported that, so far, 19 people have died in Israel and 224 in Iran since the conflict flared. Among those killed in Iran are women, children, and high-ranking military officials, including Revolutionary Guards intelligence chief Mohammad Kazemi.

Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said on Sunday that Tehran was “burning,” confirming that Israeli forces continue to target military locations in Iran.

Despite calls from global leaders to calm tensions, both countries have shown no signs of backing down.

Iranian media claim that a new method of attack used by Iran has disrupted Israel’s defence systems, although this has not been independently verified.

As the situation evolves, fears are growing among world leaders that this could lead to a broader war in the Middle East.
